Fact & Fiction opened in 1986 on Main Street in Downtown Missoula.
Thanks to the encouragement of friends and family, and the support of
the Missoula reading and writing community, F&F survived and grew.
In 1998 an opportunity to move to Higgins Avenue presented itself, and
that summer friends of Fact & Fiction helped move the entire
contents of the store three blocks east to the historic Bluebird
Building at 220 N Higgins. Volunteers brought handtrucks, dollys,
wagons and even wheelbarrows to move fixtures and books. In 2008 F&F merged with The Bookstore at UM, now there are two locations to celebrate readers and writers--Downtown and in the University Center.
