Queer Writers Reading

Missoula is overflowing with talented writers in all genres, we take a great deal of pride in that fact. When Ezekiel published a piece in the anthology Awakenings: Stories of Bodies & Consciousness late last year with ELJ Editions the contributors were encouraged to get the book in the world. Virtual readings were abundant and the publication was a hit. He wanted to do a live reading but there were no other contributors in close proximity and saw it as an opportunity to showcase local queer talent. The result is a sampling of the writers who reside in the Missoula valley who can’t wait to share their words with you.

Ezekiel or Zeke (he/him) is a trans writer who grew up in Missoula, he is a board member of the Western Montana LGBTQIA+ Community Center and works in railroad operations. Kathryn McMahon (she/they) is a talented writer of multiple genres. She has won numerous awards for writing and is currently Social Work grad student. Laramie Dean (he/him) like his writing is a force of nature. He is the author of the novel Black Forest, multiple plays and is a drama teacher at Hellgate High School. Lynsey G. (she/they) is a smart and funny multi-award winning writer and editor. She is co-founder of Oneshi Press, writer of graphic novels, a production editor at Penguin Random House and freelance editor for several publishers. Emma Pfeiffer (she/they) holds an MFA from the University of Montana where she was the nonfiction editor for CutBank. They live in a haunted old house with an aggressively friendly cat. Charlotte Macorn (she/they) is a writer, comedian, the mecurical icon and the voice or your generation, a beloved member of the community.
